Colin Kaepernick has reportedly found a new way to earn income.
According to Page Six and several other outlets, the free-agent quarterback has inked a $1 million book deal with One World, an imprint of Random House. One World was established in 2016 by Chris Jackson, who also has a contract signed with Jay-Z.
Kaepernick, 29, has been shunned by the NFL ever since his national anthem protest as a San Francisco 49ers player in August 2016. However, he is expected to be invited to the next meeting between NFL players and owners, according to a league spokesman.
The free agent filed a grievance against the NFL on Oct. 15, claiming owners colluded to keep him out of the league. Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins invited Kaepernick to a a meeting two days later that was held between owners and players in New York, though the latter did not attend. That meeting included 13 current or former players, plus 11 owners and representatives from the league and the NFL Players Association.

Kapernick also recently received a shout-out from rapper Eminem, who blasted President Donald Trump in a freestyle rap at the BET Awards. Trump has lambasted NFL players for following Kaepernick’s motion of kneeling or sitting during the national anthem, and has called on team owners to reprimand or even release players who engage in this behavior.
Shortly after the 49ers released Kaepernick in March, the quarterback reportedly said he would stand for the anthem if he played in 2017.
Kaepernick has also been occupied working with his Know Your Rights campaign, which he launched to raise awareness on self-empowerment and interacting with law enforcement. He has also been donating $1 million to multiple social justice causes over the past year.
