Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Darren Helm each scored two goals to help lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 6-5 win over the Boston Bruins at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Sunday. Datsyuk surpassed the 900-point mark with his two goals, earning him a total of 902 points.
“For me it’s a big stepping stone, but it [doesn’t] happen without lots of good players I am playing with,” said Datsyuk , who has 902 points. “Lots of helping and supporting, and lots of teaching me, too. Lots of giving me advice. I appreciate all of them.”
There are five other Red Wings players with 900 NHL points or more: Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Alex Delvecchio, Nicklas Lidstrom and Sergei Fedorov. They are all in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Both teams managed to lose two-goal leads before Danny DeKeyser took a shot from the point, which deflected off Zetterberg (who was credited with the goal) and past Boston goalie Jonas Gustavsson with 12:23 left in the game.
