Ravens’ Quarterback Lamar Jackson Cancels Event In Florida Amid Rise In COVID-19 Cases In State

Reigning NFL MVP and star quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson has canceled his annual “Funday with LJ” event in Florida, this comes as positive cases for COVID-19 rises in Broward County, where the event was slated to take place.

This was going to be the third year of the event, which advertised flag football and other fun summer activities with Jackson in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida. It is unclear how many people were expected to attend, but social gatherings larger than ten are currently not allowed in Pompano Beach, given concerns about the virus.

The event was originally slated to be held this weekend, but with there being more than 21,000 positive cases of the virus and 400 dead in Broward County alone, the star quarterback opted to cancel.

It is unclear whether or not Jackson will reschedule.
