Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Apologizes After Video Shows Him Driving 105 MPH Without Seat Belt [VIDEO]

Lamar Jackson apologized Wednesday night shortly after an Instagram video of the Baltimore Ravens quarterback driving 105 mph without a seat belt went viral.

TMZ Sports shared the video the 22-year-old rookie posted to his Instagram story. The video shows arrows pointing to the speedometer and to the seat belt icon on the dashboard of Jackson’s car. The clip has since been removed.

“I made a bad decision and will set a better example going forward,” Jackson tweeted Wednesday evening, adding the hashtag “#Myapologies.”

The Ravens have not yet officially issued a statement on the incident involving Jackson, although they likely will soon. Baltimore selected the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner as a first-round pick (No. 32) out of Louisville last year. In college, Jackson was also named a two-time ACC Player of the Year and a two-time ACC Offensive Player of the Year.

In other related news, the Ravens signed free safety Earl Thomas29, to a four-year, $55 million deal on Wednesday. Thomas’s contract reportedly includes $32 million guaranteed. Thomas, a six-time Pro Bowler and a former first-round pick, played his first nine NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, whom he helped lead to a Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos after the 2013 campaign. He was one of the players on the league’s list of top 100 free agents this year.
