Rafael Nadal Stops Match To Let Mother Find Lost Daughter

The 30-year-old Spanish superstar was playing an exhibition doubles match with Simon Solbas against Carlos Moya and John McEnroe in Mallorca, Spain, on Wednesday when a major commotion broke out in the crowd.

TV footage displayed an anxious mother desperately looking for her young daughter, standing beside a steward and shouting ‘Clara!’

Nadal was about to serve when he suddenly stopped, allowing for officials and the crowd to help the mother and daughter reunite. The tearful girl was soon spotted, and fans alerted the mother, who rushed over to pick up and hug the girl tightly, herself welling up with tears.

The spectators applauded the emotional scene, while the camera panned to show Nadal smiling, relieved the problem had been solved.

The mother also waved to Nadal to thank him for stopping the match.
