A day after the one-game suspension was handed down to LeGarrette Blount, Le’Veon Bell was given a three game suspension for his part in the two’s arrest last August. On top of this, he was fined an additional game check for his violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The punishment stems from an August incident, where Blount and Bell were arrested for marijuana possession. However, Bell was also charged with a DUI for driving under the influence of marijuana, hence the bigger punishment. The Steelers running back was eventually given 15 months probation by the court.
Still, he plans to appeal the NFL’s ruling, but the only possible outcome for that is a reduced sentence.

Bell has emerged as a premier back over the last two seasons. In two years, he has racked up 2,221 rushing yards, 4.2 YPC, 1,253 receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns. And in 2014 alone, he garnered 2,215 yards from scrimmage, which is a Steelers franchise record. Needless to say, he is a vital part of the team’s backfield.
