Pirates’ Andrew McCutchen Shaves Off His Signature Dreadlocks

Fan favorite Andrew McCutchen, outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, has just made a monumental announcement: he chopped off his signature dreadlocks, so he could auction them off for charity.

McCutchen has been growing his dreadlocks over the last eight years and the look has become quite iconic: especially since, his leadership has helped the Pirates go to back-to-back playoff appearances, which was something they had not done for 20 years.

“As sad as i hate to see them go, I was ready for a change,” McCutchen wrote on Instagram.

Lets just hope this haircut does not result in Samson like penalties because the Pirates desperately need him for any shot at the playoffs. In six years with the team, he is hitting .299 with 128 home runs, 143 stolen bases and an OBP of .385.
