Philadelphia Phillies Season Outlook: News, Schedule, Tickets, Odds

The Philadelphia Phillies are in second place in the NL East and currently hold one of the wild-card spots in the National League.

Philadelphia won the NL East in 2024 with a 95-67 record. Unfortunately for the Phillies, their season came to a disappointing end in the NLDS, losing to division rival New York Mets in four games.

In the offseason, Philadelphia signed outfielder Max Kepler and relief pitchers Jordan Romano and Joe Ross. The two reliever signings came after Philadelphia lost Carlos Estevez and Jeff Hoffman, who were valuable pitchers out of the bullpen in 2024.

Philadelphia also made a trade with the Miami Marlins to acquire starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo to bolster the starting rotation.

The Phillies have one of the best offenses in baseball, led by Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper. Nick Castellanos and J.T. Realmuto have also contributed at a high level for the offense.

Philadelphia is inside the top 10 for batting average, slugging percentage, and RBIs. Philadelphia is also in the top five for on-base percentage.

Pitching has also been a strength for Philadelphia, led by Zack Wheeler, Christopher Sanchez and Ranger Suarez.

The Phillies have the second-most strikeouts in baseball, and are inside the top 10 for ERA and preventing home runs. The Phillies are also in the top half of the league for walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP) and batting average allowed.

Philadelphia is currently dealing with injuries to Bohm and starting pitcher Aaron Nola. Bohm has a rib injury, but he recently started hitting off a practice tee, and Nola has a rehab assignment in Triple-A on July 31.

Philadelphia has all the tools to go on a deep run during the 2025 postseason. If the team can stay healthy and the bats can stay hot, Philadelphia could be a nightmare series for any team.
