Philadelphia Flyers Are Hottest Team In NHL – And Fans Aren’t Happy About It

The Philadelphia Flyers continue to roll – but fans aren’t happy about it at this stage in the season.

Historically known as the Broad Street Bullies, the team has won four straight games and owns the highest active streak currently.

Also, the Flyers are 5-1-1 in its last seven games.

While not mathematically eliminated just yet, the Flyers have been one of the worst team’s in the league during 2022-2023.

Currently, it sits 12 points out of a playoff position. So to make it with only nine games left – just about everything would have to go right.

So with the season all but over for the Flyers, fans and likely the organization are frustrated because it’s meaningless hockey.

Some would argue that it’s good for the morale of younger players such as Morgan Frost, who tallied two goals in the win against the Montreal Canadiens.

But fans without question would rather lose as many games as possible to have a shot at the first overall pick and potentially a franchise player in Connor Bedard, who everyone is salivating about in the 2023 draft.

And the lottery odds continue to go down every time the Flyers continue to move up the standings.

As the seventh-worst team in the NHL, the Flyers stand just a 6.5% chance at the first overall selection in the lottery.

Here are some of the top reactions from frustrated Flyers fans on social media.

One annoyed fan said: “F**king flyers won’t ever tank properly smh. Doomed to mediocrity in perpetuity.”

In response to the Flyer’s team Twitter account, another said: “You guys are so bad you can’t even lose when it’s necessary lmao.”

A third wrote: “You really do hate your fans.”

To make things more painful for Flyers fans, the division rival Columbus Blue Jackets hold the best odds at owning the first-overall pick.

The odds of the Blue Jackets winning it are at 18.5%.

But it will be a tight race at the end, as the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks just sit one and two points ahead of the Blue Jackets respectively.

And all the Flyers can do is pray it will get lucky and move up.
