ORCHARD PARK, NY - OCTOBER 27: Brandon Brooks #79 of the Philadelphia Eagles waits for the snap against the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field on October 27, 2019 in Orchard Park, New York. Eagles beat the Bills 31 to 13
Massive blow to the Philadelphia Eagles and their chances to repeat as NFC East champions as it came out that their starting right guard Brandon Brooks will be missing the 2020 NFL season after tearing his achilles.
In a post on Twitter, after reports had already come out that Brooks would be missing this upcoming season, he confirmed the news. “So I guess now that news is out yes I tore my other Achilles but when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. I’ll be back and better than ever. Appreciate the love.”

Back in November, the 30-year old Brooks signed a 4-year, $56.5 million contract extension with the Eagles. This came prior to Brooks missing the remainder of the 2019 season with a shoulder injury. This is also not Brooks’ first achilles injury, as he tore his achilles back in December 2018.
Last season the Eagles ranked in the top-half of NFL teams in total yards per game on offense, passing yards per game and rushing yards per game, while also allowing the fourteenth fewest sacks among all NFL teams with 37.
