Well it looks like the odds of Peyton Manning playing in the 2015 season have steadily increased. While he will meet with general manager John Elway and Broncos’ CEO Joe Ellis before they leave for the NFL combine next week, Manning is currently in New Orleans training with legendary strength and conditioning coach Mackie Shilstone: the coach, who focuses heavily on career longevity, has worked with such athletes like Serena Williams, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.
The specific point of his training with Mackie is to make sure he is in the best physical condition to play in 2015: with the final decision being made during the aforementioned meeting with Ellis and Elway.
Peyton struggled towards the end of 2014 with a lingering thigh injury, but he still garnered 4,727 yards with a 66.2 completion percentage, 39 touchdowns, 15 interceptions — his highest total with the Broncos — and a QBR of 77.25. Despite what many call critics call a down year, Elway has repeatedly said he wants Peyton Manning back: so it looks like folks hoping to see Brock Osweiler’s ability might have to wait a bit longer — the 2012 second round draft pick has seen little time sitting behind the future hall of fame QB.
