Patriots WR Julian Edelman Arrested, Released After On Jumping Car In Beverly Hills

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was allegedly arrested on Saturday after an incident in Beverly Hills. According to TMZ Sports, Edelman was arrested after jumping on the hood of a Mercedes.

He was cited for misdemeanor vandalism before being released. It was apparent that Edelman had been drinking leading up to the incident.

“[Edelman] was in Bev Hills walking around at about 9 p.m. when for some unknown reason he hopped up on the car, causing damage”, TMZ reported.

The 33-year old receiver was in Los Angeles just one week after the Patriots lost to the Titans in the AFC Wild Card round 20-13. He appeared in an Instagram photo with Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce and former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola.

Edelman is reported to undergo surgeries on his shoulder and knee this offseason. The shoulder surgery is set to repair a separated AC joint in his left shoulder, and the left knee will need a scope to help remove a loose body.

It is very unlikely that charges will be filed and it is more likely that Edelman will settle with the vehicle’s owner.
