“Yesterday, Trevor Davis checked in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter and was asked the usual questions about whether he was carrying any aerosol cans, knives, weapons or explosives,” Pedregon stated. “Davis turned to his female companion and asked if she remembered to pack the explosives. He was then taken into custody and booked.”

The Packers announced in a statement that they had been notified of the situation.

“We are in the process of gathering more information and will refrain from making any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter,” the team’s statement to ESPN read.

The 24-year-old receiver was drafted as a fifth-round pick out of California in 2016. He was Green Bay’s main kick returner and punt returner in 2017. Davis had the third-highest punt return average in the NFL (12.0) last season. Among his most impressive returns was a 65-yard return against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 10 that helped create the game-tying touchdown and force overtime.

Davis also averages 22.8 yards per kickoff.
