The Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers squared off Monday night in a possible preview of an Eastern Conference first round playoff matchup.
The Cavaliers came in sporting a 34-12 record, atop the East, while Indiana sits in eighth place with a record of 25-22. This was still a divisional rivalry game though, so you knew the Pacers weren’t going to just roll over.
Rookie center Myles Turner, just 19 years old, did his best to set the tone early on with a thunderous two-handed dunk just a little over three minutes into the game.

The Pacers hung tough with the Cavs despite the struggles of Paul George, who was just 3-15 for 11 points and committed 5 turnovers. Turner finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots, including one of the best plays of the game with this block on a LeBron James dunk attempt.
Cleveland’s Big Three continued to play well, James shook off a subpar shooting night to finish with 24 points on 9-22 shooting with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Kyrie Irving put up 25 points and Kevin Love added 19 points.
Unfortunately for the Pacers, Cleveland would go on to win the game in overtime 111-106. The Cavs next game will be tomorrow in Charlotte to take on the Hornets, while the Pacers will be in Brooklyn to take on the Nets tomorrow.
