The Jets finished the 2016 season 5-11 to end up fourth in the AFC East. The team selected nine players in the 2017 NFL draft: LSU safety Jamal Adams (No. 6 overall), Florida safety Marcus Maye (Round 2, pick 39), Alabama wide receiver ArDarius Stewart (Round 3, pick 79), Cal receiver Chad Hansen (Round 4, pick 141), Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett (Round 5, pick 150), West Georgia defensive lineman Dylan Donohue (Round 5, pick 181), Louisiana-Lafayette running back Elijah McGuire, (Rond 6, pick 188), Michigan defensive back Jeremy Clarke (Round 6, pick 197), and Ole Miss defensive back Derrick Jones (Round 6, pick 204).
