Notre Dame revealed its much-anticipated 2016 Shamrock Series uniforms, which the Fighting Irish will wear when they play Army at the Alamodome in San Antonio on November 12.
Given that Army is a service academy, there was some speculation that this year’s jerseys would include a camouflage pattern. Although they don’t exactly reflect his pattern, their shades of green are somewhat similar to camouflage.
Notre Dame’s special-series uniforms last year, which they wore during a game against Boston College at Fenway Park in November, were characterized by a much lighter, more dazzling green. The new helmets also appear to be a different shade of gold than last year’s. The Irish are calling the new uniforms ‘military green,’ an appropriate name given this year’s opponents for that matchup.

The Irish also recently re-ignited their longtime rivalry series with the Michigan Wolverines, whom they plan to play in 2018 and 2019. Their game against Army in November will be aired on NBC.
The 2016 uniforms also include a a hand-painted illustration of the basilica doorway on the helmets.
Not everyone will surely agree on whether Notre Dame’s new uniforms are appealing or not, but one thing is certain: the Irish have created quite an eye-catching design.
