In the past few years, North American talents began to become more prominent in European football. Top clubs in Europe like FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have signed some of these talents.
USMNT player Christian Pulisic signed with Premier League side Chelsea in 2019. Pulisic had an impressive first season at Chelsea and was even nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award.
Despite being only 19 years old, Canadian star Alphonso Davies is now considered among the top left-backs in the world. His past season with Bayern Munich was incredible. Davies won five trophies with Bayern including the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
USMNT player Weston McKennie is currently playing for Serie A club Juventus on loan from Bundesliga side Schalke. The talented midfielder quickly gained his spot in the starting XI of his current club after impressing head coach Andrea Pirlo. McKennie has the potential and talent to become a world class midfielder one day.

FC Barcelona recently signed USMNT right-back Sergino Dest from AFC Ajax. Dest is a highly rated right-back who was also wanted by Bayern Munich, but the player decided to join FC Barcelona instead.
USMNT star Tyler Adams currently plays for Bundesliga club R.B. Leipzig. Last season, Adams scored a late goal against La Liga club Atletico Madrid in the Champions League to let his side progress to the competition’s semi final. He is Borussia Dortmund and USMNT teen midfielder Giovanni Reyna made history with his club after creating three assists during a Bundesgliga game. Reyna is already attracting interest from elite European clubs like La Liga side Real Madrid.
Young North American talents are clearly having a great impact on European football and their presence will open the door for other talents from the region as well. In fact, recent reports claim that elite clubs like FC Barcelona are scouting players from the region.
