Nike Air Penny 5 Blue Chips Pays Tribute To Orlando Magic’s Penny Hardaway

With the increase in cultural tie-ins from movies and TV shows in shoes over the past couple of years, Nike is adding to this trend by bringing back the Nike Air Penny 5 for the film Blue Chips and its 26 anniversary.

These Nikes are former Orlando Magic guard Penny Hardaway‘s signature shoe with Nike and came out with multiple shoes and colorways. The Nike Air Penny 5 Blue Chip colorway is based on the 1994 film Blue Chips. The color scheme is made to resemble the fictional Western University uniforms and school colors. Don’t forget the oft-overshadowed silhouettes on the “Bright Blue” hues on the leather, mesh and Foamposite uppers. The Nike swoosh and “1 cent” logo are colored with the fictional team color yellow. These are located on the tongue, heel and outsole. The Air Penny 5’s are performance-ready with Phylon insoles and Air unite at the forefoot and heel.

The Air Penny 5 was released on February 18, and are available for purchase at selected retailers such as Footlocker for $160.
