During an episode of College Gameday, retired Alabama coach Nick Saban talked about Julian Sayin.
It all started back in 2022, when Sayin committed to the University of Alabama. He was a five-star-plus recruit.
Sayin signed a letter of intent in December 2023.
Sayin began practicing with the Crimson Tide, but then he entered the transfer portal.

Sayin transferred to Ohio State University in January 2024 following Saban’s retirement.
At the time, Saban did not realize how good Sayin would become.
“I think one point I’d like to make about Julian Sayin is he was at Alabama,” Saban said. “And the coach at Alabama played him on the scout team for a whole year. What a dumbass.”
In the 2025 season, Sayin has scored 23 touchdowns in the past five games he has started. He also has 2,188 yards with an 80% completion percentage.
Sayin is now in the Heisman Trophy discussion as Ohio State’s starting quarterback.
