Nick Foles Throws Three TDs, Eagles Rout Vikings 38-7 In NFC Championship Game [VIDEO]

The Philadelphia Eagles are headed to Super Bowl LII after pounding the Minnesota Vikings 38-7 in Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game.

Eagles vs. Vikings AFC Championship Game highlights

The Eagles will face the New England Patriots — who have reached their third national championship in four years — in a rematch of Super Bowl XXIX in 2005, the last time Philadelphia won the NFC Championship.

Nick Foles threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns, and the Eagles defense forced two key turnovers to earn Sunday’s victory in Philadelphia.

The Patriots defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 earlier Sunday to reach their eighth Super Bowl in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era (2001-onwards).

Minnesota took the opening kickoff 75 yards in nine plays, and their drive ended with Case Keenum’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph. But good things stopped their for the Vikings, as Keenum was unable to reproduce the magic he delivered in last week’s victory over the New Orleans Saints.

On the Vikings’ second possession, Keenum was hit as he attempted a third-down toss and Patrick Robinson intercepted him. Robinson zig-zagged his way into the end zone from about 50 yards away and the thrashing began then.

In the second quarter, LeGarrette Blount — who won the Super Bowl with the Patriots last year — raced over the goal line from 11 yards out to put the Eagles up 14-7.

Then with 3:25 left and Minnesota at the Philadelphia 16, Keenum was strip-sacked by Derek Barnett. Chris Long recovered the fumble on the following drive, and Alshon Jeffery caught a 53-yard TD pass from Foles.

Foles then completed passes of 11, 36 and 13 yards to set up a 38-yard Jake Elliott field goal to close out the half. Torrey Smith then caught a 41-yard TD pass early in the third quarter.

The Eagles are now seeking their first national title since 1960, a trophy they won before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
