During Thursday Night Football’s matchup between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, that saw the Rams dominate in a 24-10 win, announcer Brian Griese shared comments that Bears quarterback Nick Foles made seemingly criticizing Bears’ coach Matt Nagy‘s playcalling.
Foles’ actually told a reporter that he knew for some play calls that he would have to immediately take a check-down because he would not have time to go through progressions. Nagy has been much maligned for his, at times, confounding playcalling decisions. “We’ve never had that conversation,” said Nagy. “I don’t know. You’ll have [ask Foles]… Nick and I have a pretty good relationship and he hasn’t said that. I’m sure he’ll explain what he meant by that.”
Many thought the Bears were frauds to their 5-1 record heading into week seven and that seems to be playing out. If they can’t get their issues right this could go south very fast in Chicago with a difficult schedule coming for the rest of the year.
