NFL Cornerbacks DeAndre Baker & Quinton Dunbar Wanted In Armed Robbery Case

Arrest warrants have been issued for New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seattle Seahawks corner Quinton Dunbar in South Florida. The two are in connection for an armed robbery investigation.

According to Miami police, both Baker and Dunbar’s arrest warrants are for four counts of armed robbery with a firearm, while Baker has an additional four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

The incident in question occurred late Wednesday night at a party, where the two have been accused of stealing money and watches while being armed with semi-automatic firearms.

There seems to be more information available regarding Baker’s involvement in the incident. The 22 year old reportedly threatened guests with his firearm. In his rookie season with the Giants, Baker had 55 tackles and no interceptions. Baker was benched toward the end of the year due to performance issues, as well as some coaches having trust issues with Baker. The Giants traded up to take Baker in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, despite multiple teams having him off their respective boards, citing character issues. “We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with DeAndre. We have no further comment at this time,”  the Giants said in a statement. He has since turned himself into Broward County Jail.

Dunbar’s involvement in the event is a little more in question, as according to the arrest warrant, there are differing accounts from witnesses, some saying Dunbar had a firearm, while others said that they did not see one in his possession. The 27-year-old Dunbar was traded from the Redskins to the Seahawks in March. The Seahawks, similar to the Giants, said in a statement that they were aware about Dunbar’s situation, but were not going to make any other comments.
