NFC, AFC Championship Games Preview (Jan. 21, 2018): Game Time Start, TV Channel Info

Both NFL Championship Games will be held this Sunday, and here is everything you need to know before watching the matchups.

NFL 2018 Championship Games preview

The New England Patriots have reached the AFC title game for the seventh straight year after defeating the Tennessee Titans on Saturday. The Pats will face a surprising Jacksonville Jaguars team that boasts a powerful defense.

Tom Brady is hoping to reach his eighth Super Bowl, and his third in four years.

Jacksonville shockingly defeated Pittsburgh 45-42 on Saturday. Their trip to New England will mark their third AFC Championship Game in franchise history. The Jags are vying to reach their first-ever Super Bowl.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles will be playing in their seventh conference title game in franchise history when they host the Minnesota Vikings, who pulled off a thrilling 29-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with a touchdown in the last seconds. Stefon Diggs caught a 61-yard pass from Case Keenum to seal the win.

The Eagles defeated the Atlanta Falcons 15-10 to reach the NFC title game. Nick Foles threw for 246 yards in the win against Atlanta, so the Eagles offense is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Should the Vikings win on Sunday, they would become the first team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Sunday will be Minnesota’s tenth NFC championship game in history and their first since 2009.

The Eagles are seeking their first Super Bowl trophy in the modern era. Philadelphia won three NFL Championships (1948, 1949, 1960) before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
