PHOENIX, AZ - AUGUST 23: Plenette Pierson #33 of the New York Liberty handles the ball during the WNBA game against the Phoenix Mercury at US Airways Center on August 23, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Liberty defeated the Mercury 74-70.
The WNBA season only three months away. The New York Liberty are getting ready to head back to the court for this coming season. The Liberty look to redeem themselves from last season after only winning ten games out of their 34 game season finishing second in the league. The ten-year veteran Tina Charles and young guard Kia Nurse look to pilot the team with the help of new additions of Assistant Coach Shelly Patterson, new free agency pick-up of guard Layshia Clarendon from the Connecticut Suns and a healthy Aisa Durr.
