New York Jets Owner Apologizes for Favoriting Fire GM Tweet

As most New York Jets fans know, the 2014 season has been a difficult year to stomach: but it is hard to blame the team’s atrocious 3-11 record completely on head coach Rex Ryan — who is likely going to be fired in the offseason. A good portion of the blame should be placed on general manager John Idzik Jr. He put all the eggs in the wonderfully average Geno Smith basket and has done very little to create a playoff caliber roster. And it appears that the front office is well aware of this problem: with Woody Johnson favoriting a fire Idzik tweet.

Of course, Woody Johnson has since apologized, claiming “[I] have to be more careful when scrolling through my Twitter feed.”

Now who knows if Woody Johnson is really running his own Twitter page, but the circus the New York Jets call an organization gets more entertaining from week to week. However, it is likely that the Jets will be cleaning house next season and that could possibly include drafting a QB with their high first round pick. But for the sake of New York fans everywhere, lets hope that Woody Johnson can take the Jets out of this nosedive.
