NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics Are Taking Trade Calls On Veteran Starters Jrue Holiday & Kristaps Porzingis

After a disappointing end to the 2024-2025 NBA season, the Boston Celtics are likely going to go into next year with a different-looking roster.

The Achilles injury to Jayson Tatum not only ended the Celtics’ title hopes but also likely solidifies that the team will not be contending for an NBA championship next season.

NBA TRADE RUMORS

If the team chooses to make changes to the roster, it’s the older veterans who could have new homes for the next season. The Celtics are reportedly taking calls on starting point guard Jrue Holiday, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

The 35-year-old averaged 11.3 points and 3.9 assists per game this season, the lowest in both statistics since he was a rookie.

He still has three years remaining on a $134.4 million extension he signed with the Celtics before the start of the season.

Some teams that could be interested in Holiday are the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks. Despite his large contract, Holiday will have a market.

Kristaps Porzingis is another player the Celtics could trade. He has one year remaining on a two-year, $60 million contract he signed with the team.

Porzingis missed long stretches of games this season with an illness that lasted into the playoffs.

Coming into a season where the Celtics are looking to reload, Porzingis and Holiday are two candidates to wear different jerseys next season.
