The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid $35,000 for his recent celebration against the Portland Trail Blazers.
During the celebration, Embiid was seen doing a “crotch chop” after hitting a layup.
The move resembled the “Suck It” celebration made popular by WWE’s D-Generation X. The 76ers ended up winning the game 126-98, with Embiid finishing with 35 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and six blocked shots.
After Embiid’s fine was announced, WWE legend Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H invited the NBA Star to Wrestlemania 40, which will be held in Philadelphia in April 2024.

“Hey [Joel Embiid] – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. [Wrestlemania] 40 is right there in Philly,” Triple H posted to X.
Embiid has been previously fined before. The NBA ordered him to pay $25,000 for performing the same celebration against the Brooklyn Nets in January. Embiid’s fine against the Trailblazers was his first of the season.
