Navy’s Keenan Reynolds Removed From Heisman Trophy Ballot

After being named AAC Offensive Player, Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds looked like he had a good shot at the Heisman Trophy. He had the stats and was receiving votes – as high as 44% of them – but suddenly his name vanished from the online fan voting ballot.

While you can still vote for Reynolds, there is no longer a convenient button to select him; instead, he has to be manually supported as a write-in candidate.

This change is apparently linked to the ESPN Expert’s Poll and only those players are listed as candidates. Reynolds isn’t one of them, hence his bump to write-in status.

“When the names change on the ESPN Experts’ Poll, they automatically change on the Heisman House site. ESPN and Nissan have no control over what names are on the Heisman House ballot,” the ESPN spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to SBNation’s Underdog Dynasty.

Navy, however, is undeterred and still throwing support behind their quarterback.

The Heisman Trophy ,awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football will be awarded on Dec. 14.
