Nationals Allowed To Practice, Season Begins Tuesday, Double-Header On Wednesday

The Washington Nationals will be allowed to practice on Monday. The team is allowed to practice and will begin its season with a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves.

The Nationals were set to begin their season on April 1 with a three-game series with the New York Mets. However, the MLB suspended the series after four Nationals players tested positive for coronavirus. As a result, five players and four staff members were in quarantine because of contact tracing.

On Sunday, the MLB suspended the Nationals and Braves Monday game. “The most recent round of test results of Nationals personnel included no new positives,” MLB said in a news release. “All of the club’s eligible personnel will be able to participate in baseball activities at Nationals Park on Monday.”

While the players were working out on Monday, it was announced by the league that Washington will play Atlanta in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The league decided to have Washington play Monday’s postponed game on Wednesday. So, the Nationals will play back-to-back seven-inning games with Atlanta.
