The Milwaukee Brewers have a record of 45-36 and are currently in second place in the NL Central.
Milwaukee finished the 2024 season with a 93-69 record, winning the NL Central, but lost in the Wild Card round to the New York Mets in three games. Instead of building on a strong 2024 season, the Brewers traded away talent and allowed players to walk in free agency to reduce the team’s payroll and move forward with a partial youth movement.
The Brewers traded away two-time All-Star relief pitcher Devin Williams to the New York Yankees in exchange for starting pitcher Nestor Cortes and third baseman Caleb Durbin. Milwaukee let starting pitcher Frankie Montas, relief pitchers Wade Miley, Hoby Milner, Colin Rea and catcher Gary Sanchez walk in free agency.
Milwaukee brought in starting pitcher Jose Quintana in free agency, a move that added a veteran presence to the locker room and steady production. The Brewers made a trade on June 13, acquiring former No. 3 overall pick Andrew Vaughn for Aaron Civale.

Milwaukee will be an interesting team to monitor as the trade deadline approaches, as the team’s success is offset by its offseason moves, which reflect a rebuild. Consequently, the Brewers may look to trade some of their valuable veterans to build towards the future, but they could also be buyers to contend with the mix of veterans and youth on the roster.
Milwaukee has a good chance of making the postseason with +110 odds. However, the odds aren’t in the Brewers’ favor to make the World Series, as the odds are +2400, and Milwaukee’s odds to win the World Series are +4600.
