Miko Grimes, Wife Of Dolphins CB Brent Grimes, Criticizes QB Ryan Tannehill

In moments of high tension, it’s possible that one teammate throws another under the bus. What’s even more unlikely–but currently happening in Miami–is a player’s wife doing the criticizing.

Miko Grimes, wife of Dolphins corner back Brent Grimes, turned her sights on Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill this weekend. While her Twitter account has since been locked, she devoted a good chunk of her feed to the quarterback.

“I knew this qb stunk the minute we signed to this team but I tried to keep quiet so I didn’t discourage bae from believing in his team,” she wrote. She also tweeted “I should’ve known we were gonna lose when I heard we didn’t complete a single pass in two minute drills this week against the practice squad defense,” and “My Column: how many people does Ryan Tannehill have to get fired before you realize he’s the problem.”

Grimes also criticzed a trio of writers she has dubbed ‘the triple A’s’, the Miami Herald‘s Adam Beasley and Armando Salguero and Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post, and accused them of conspiring to blame the defense for any Dolphins struggles while protecting Tannehill.

Grimes also had a run in with police outside a Dolphins game earlier this year, but charges were dropped. The Dolphins have meet with both Miko and Brent Grimes about her behavior, feeling that it reflects poorly on the team, according to Salguero.

As for the players themselves, interim head coach Dan Campbell doesn’t believe there is any tension between Grimes and Tannehill.

“I’ve never sensed that there has been any animosity or disconnect between those two guys,” Campbell said. “That has never been an issue, and I still don’t believe it’s an issue. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Certainly my wife sometimes thinks different than I do. She has that right.”
