Los Angeles Laker Press Conference: New Players Haven’t Heard From Kobe Bryant

During a Lakers press conference yesterday held to introduce the new Laker additions Roy Hibbert, Lou Williams, and Brandon Bass, everyone watching got a taste of what it is like to be Kobe’s teammate. A reporter seemed to sincerely wonder about the warmth that Kobe has given his new teammates, and let’s just say that it was about as warm as Antarctica on a hot day during that question session.  And if the nipping cold environment was not enough, it was downright awkward as well.

Check it out here:

If you can’t hear it at work I have provided a transcription below.

Reporter: Have any of you guys heard from Kobe, and if so, what did he say?

Hibbert, Williams and Bass: … (Silence)…

…(deepening silence)…

…(awkward silence)…

…(averting gazes whilst in the deep awkward silence)…

…(pigs fly)…

…(the knicks make the finals)…

But seriously, it was pretty bad. But that may be the reason that most of the Lakers tend to leave. But with the addition of mixed veterans and young talent in draft pick, D’Antonio Russell, finding who will actually shoot the ball while Nick Young and Kobe are on the floor will be the next obstacle that the Lakers management will have to face next.

Last year Roy Hibbert averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks, Lou Williams averaged 15.5 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 rebounds, and Brandon Bass averaged 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.  Compared to Kobe’s 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, the team better get some chemistry pretty quickly, or its gonna be Kobe’s show for yet another year.
