Lebron James Declares His Three Best Friends In The League

In what is probably the most annoying story of 2015, people still remain shocked that Lebron James and Kevin Love are not best friends. Playing with people does not guarantee automatic friendships and sometimes trust takes time. But close or not, teams can still win games without players being best friends.

Either way, when Lebron James and Kyrie Irving was interviewed by Joe Vardon of the Northeast Ohio Media Group, the King was asked about the heavily documented Kevin Love situation.

“People get so infatuated with the best of friends, things of that nature,” James said. “First of all, I’ve got three very good friends in this league, and that’s [Carmelo Anthony], and that’s [Chris Paul], and that’s [Dwayne Wade]. And after that I have a bunch of teammates. I have guys I ride for every day. But Kyrie is a guy I understand how important he is to this team, how important he is. And the same with Kev as well.”

At the same time, he understands what the big three in Cleveland has to do to win games. “In order for us to reach our potential, the Big Three has to be big,” James continued. “And it can’t just be Kyrie one night, me one night, and Kev. We all have to be clicking at the same time in order for us to be successful.”

The more interesting omission has to be Chris Bosh. While it is understandable with Kyrie and Love — both age and time with them play a factor — everyone assumed Miami Heat’s big three were close.
