Kevin Durant Confirmed To Be One Of Four Brooklyn Nets Players To Test Positive For Coronavirus

Kevin Durant has tested positive along with four other Brooklyn Nets players for the coronavirus. One player reportedly has symptoms while the other three are “asymptomatic,” according to a statement released by the Nets.

“The organization is currently notifying anyone who has had known contact with the players, including recent opponents, and is working closely with state and local health authorities on reporting,” the statement read. “All players and members of the Nets travel party are being asked to remain isolated, closely monitor their health and maintain constant communication with team medical staff. The health of our players and staff is of the highest priority to the organization and the team is doing everything within its power to ensure that those affected receive the best care possible.”

In an interview with The Athletic, Durant spoke for the first time since the news broke of his positive diagnosis. “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine,” Durant said. “We’re going to get through this.” He later admitted that he is one of the four players that isn’t experiencing symptoms related to the disease. League sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the player with symptoms woke up Tuesday morning with aches.

The Nets last game was played in the Staples Center against the Lakers on March 10, so Los Angeles’ entire staff will be tested and subsequently quarantined, according to reports.
