Once again, University of Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari finds himself shutting down rumors that he is abandoning his job as a college coach to pursue a career as an NBA coach, and for one team in particular: the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets recently fired head coach Lionel Hollins and reassigned general manager Billy King.
However, the Nets are currently a disaster, so it wouldn’t make much sense for anyone to seek out a coaching job with them. As a matter of fact, the Nets don’t have a first-round draft pick until 2019.
Calipari took to Twitter on Monday to lay the rumors to rest, just as he did a few months ago to address similar rumors about him possibly coaching other NBA teams. Over the last year, Kentucky’s coach has previously received the same rumors regarding the Pelicans and the Kings, just to name a few:
