Draymond Green offered to help James Harden in Monday night’s decisive Game 7 between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets, but Harden refused Green.

Draymond Green Offers To Help James Harden, Gets Rejected

Late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 101-92 victory in Houston, All-Star Harden fell underneath the basket after trying to make a driving score but the ball flew out of bounds. Green attempted to help the Rockets star get up by grabbing both his arms, but Harden did not appear to make any effort to meet Green halfway and hoist himself up.

Green thus angrily released and pushed Harden’s hands and walked away while the Houston guard also demonstrated his irritation by furiously waving his hands as if to shoo his opponent away.

Green is known for being an aggressive player sometimes: his flop-and-kicks and other hits to sensitive areas like the groin have been well documented, especially in the playoffs. However, in this instance it seemed like Harden was the one who did not try to show any kind of sportsmanship, something that many fans on social media seemed to agree on.

The defending champion Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers are thus in the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year. Cleveland defeated the Boston Celtics 87-79 in Game 7 on Sunday.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is set for Thursday at 9pm EST in Oakland. The contest will air on ABC. Many fans and basketball pundits have said, however, that both the Warriors and Cavs have not been playing as well as they were last year.

According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Warriors owner Joe Lacob said he is growing “tired” of his team facing the Cavs in the Finals.
