A Guide to MLB Opening Day 2015

One of the most exciting traditions in sports is here. It’s Opening Day throughout baseball, kicking off not only the start of a new MLB season, but also a sign that spring has arrived.

The season kicked off last night at Wrigley Field as the St. Louis Cardinals shut out the host Chicago Cubs 3-0. Adam Wainwright pitched six scoreless innings and the Cardinals’ bullpen picked off where he left off to combine for the shutout. Matt Holliday drove in 2 RBIs to give St. Louis the run support they needed to win the game.

For the other 28 teams, the traditional Opening Day will be their starting point to their season. For some teams, nothing short of a World Series title will do. For others, it’s a rebuilding year and a way to look ahead to the future. But no matter the direction a team is heading, they all start 0-0 and begin their journey today.
