Cameron Boozer (Image: Duke)
Cameron Boozer was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the No. 3 overall pick, making him one of the biggest stories of the stacked 2026 NBA Draft.
Boozer excelled at Duke, dominating at every level with his scoring ability, rebounding, passing and maturity. His father also played in the league for multiple years, and Boozer is built similarly—big and strong. While he’s not the most athletic player, he is consistent and gets the job done. He projects to have a strong NBA career.
It remains unclear what the future holds for Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, but Boozer’s game is polished for his age. Duke lost in the Elite Eight to UConn, but Boozer dominated, scoring in the post and hitting the long ball when needed. He brings exactly what Memphis needs as the team potentially heads into a rebuild.
The Grizzlies recently fired their coach and traded away key players such as Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks. Now, they are looking to rebuild around Boozer, the No. 3 pick. For Memphis, this signals a long-term commitment to Boozer, who was a standout athlete at a college basketball powerhouse.
Attention now shifts to Memphis to see if the Grizzlies can win games in the near future. Boozer is one of the most highly anticipated additions for the franchise.
