NFL fans couldn’t help but tumble over laughing on Thursday after Google incorrectly listed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as the owner of the New York Jets.
Google offered no comment as to the reason for the misstep, though one can guess it was a glitch of some sort and hopefully not a hack.
A Jets spokesman also declined to comment.

Brady has in fact “owned” the Jets, his AFC East rivals, on the field several times in the sense of “defeated.” Including the postseason, Brady owns a 24-8 record against the Jets, and has recorded 7,625 passing yards and 48 touchdowns in those 32 contests. The Patriots routed the Jets 41-3 in week 16 of last season.
The quarterback is fourth all-time in career passing yards (61,582) and touchdowns (456).
Woody Johnson is the actual owner of the Jets, and has held the position since 2000. In June, President Donald Trump nominated Johnson for the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Should Johnson be confirmed by the Senate, his younger brother Christopher Wold Johnson will be taking over as chairman and CEO this season.
