Gareth Bale has agreed to a contract extension with current club Real Madrid that will see him earn £350k ($470k) per week over the next six years, according to the Daily Express.
The deal could be worth a potential whopping £91m ($122m) to the 27-year-old Welsh winger should he see it through to completion in 2022.
Bale has been frequently tied to a return to the Premier League, Manchester United being the most often suggested destination, although Real are reportedly content with the winger’s progression.
Despite a rough start to his La Liga career– Real fans viciously heckled the former Tottenham Hotspur star several times during his second year abroad– Bale has started to settle in Madrid since the beginning of last season.

The 2015/16 season was his best in terms of scoring in the Spanish league, scoring 19 goals despite injury limiting him to merely 23 appearances. He won the Champions League for a second time in all-white and subsequently enjoyed a fine Euro 2016, where Wales lost to eventual champion Portugal 2-0 in the semifinals.
This season, Bale has also opened strong, scoring twice on the first day of the season in Cristiano Ronaldo’s enforced absence.
However, the Welshman is not the only Real star in line for a new deal. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, negotiations with Toni Kroos and his representatives are due to start in the coming days.
It is also rumored that Real are prepared to make Kroos, along with Luka Modric, the fourth-highest-paid player at the club behind only Ronaldo, Bale and captain Sergio Ramos.
Kroos, a 26-year-old midfielder who played on Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning team, still has another four years remaining on his current deal, although Real seem to wish to extend it to 2022 or even 2023 and tie the player down for the long-term.
In other European soccer news, England defeated Slovakia 1-0 in Sunday’s 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier, thanks to a goal from Adam Lallana five minutes into injury time in the second half.
Slovakia was reduced to 10 men after captain Martin Skrtel was sent off in the 57th minute for a foul on Harry Kane.
Before the game in Trnava, Slovakia, newly-minted England manager Sam Allardyce stated he might be satisfied with a draw against a Slovakian team that shut out England in a 0-0 group-stage tie at Euro 2016 this summer.
Allardyce also said after the game that it is “not for me to say where to play Wayne Rooney”, adding that “he did play a little deeper than I thought he’d play today.”
Meanwhile, Bales and the Wales national team defeated Moldova 4-0 in their own 2018 World Cup qualifying match.
