FSU Kicker Ricky Aguayo Fought With Frat Boys In December 2016, Video Released

Florida State kicker Ricky Aguayo was allegedly involved in a brawl near the school’s campus a year ago, and there is now evidence of this.

FSU Kicker Ricky Aguayo fight news

On Wednesday morning, TMZ released a video of the sophomore kicker exchanging punches with several fraternity members after they began verbally harassing him and eventually attacked him.

The Dec. 2, 2016 police report states Aguayo — the younger brother of second-year NFL kicker Roberto Aguayo, a former Florida State player — told authorities he was walking in front of the Pi Kappa Phi house at approximately 3 am when frat members started screaming at him about missing two field goals against the Florida Gators. The Seminoles won that game 31-13.

Aguayo told police he was rushed by several members and punched in the face and on “various other places on his body.” He had someone call tight end Ryan Izzo to help him get home. Aguayo declined treatment and said he would have trainers look at his nose. He also declined to press charges and refused to provide a written statement. The video clearly shows him physically defending himself from the attackers, however.

In the video, one person mentioned Aguayo’s brother Roberto saying, “Your brother never did this s— … that’s why I respected your brother … not you, you little b—-.”

TMZ also refuted Aguayo’s claim that he was “jumped.”

In the report, the police officer wrote, “I did observe redness to Aguayo’s face and nose, and there was a moderate amount of blood on his face and shirt,” and that Aguayo’s injuries “were consistent with being punched in the face.”

Aguayo’s shirt was also allegedly ripped, and and police noted that he and Izzo had been drinking.

The Seminoles said coach Jimbo Fisher would not comment at all on the incident.

Aguayo just earned All-ACC honors after successfully making 15 of 18 field goal attempts this season. He has also made all 33 of his extra-point attempts. The Seminoles (5-6, sixth in ACC) just defeated the Gators 38-22 on Saturday. They host Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday for their final game of the season.
