A fourth woman has come forward to accuse former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault in a lawsuit in Arizona. The woman claims that Bauer sexually abused her on multiple occasions between 2020 and 2021 in incidents that included a rape-related pregnancy, choking and physical threats with a knife.
In response to the woman’s accusations, which were published by USA Today Tuesday, Bauer has categorically denied all charges included in the article, claiming that the woman had previously tried to extort him with false information. He also filed legal action of his own, including a countersuit for fraud, extortion and fabricating a pregnancy. Bauer issued the statement through his co-agents, Jon Fetterolf and Rachel Luba.
“Trevor Bauer categorically denies this woman’s unhinged allegations,” the statement said. “She has made four documented multi-million-dollar extortion demands over the last four years, which prompted Mr. Bauer to file a criminal complaint against her. He is also actively suing for fraud.”

According to the article in USA Today, which Bauer’s co-agents specifically criticized in their statement, Bauer has been accused of impregnating his accuser in December 2020 and failing to recognize the pregnancy. In his countersuit, Bauer claims that he paid nearly $9,000 to the woman for the pregnancy and its termination. He is also accused of choking her to the point of unconsciousness and holding a steak knife to her throat.
“The Defendant swiftly caught me off guard and held me at knife point,” the woman said, according to court filings. “The Defendant placed his jagged steak knife to my throat. I was stunned and did not dare to move. The Defendant asked me, ‘Have you ever been held at knife point?’ to which I hesitantly respond, ‘No.’ The Defendant took a deep breath in and exhaled. The Defendant’s steak knife scratched my throat as he released me and I got up from his lap.”
Bauer has previously been accused of sexual assault three times before, once in California and twice in Ohio. The initial investigation into his behavior in 2021 led MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred to issue a 324-game suspension for Bauer in the summer of 2022. Bauer appealed and had his suspension reduced to 194 games, reinstating him due to time served, but he was released by the Dodgers in January 2023. He currently plays for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan.
