Former Texas WR Isaiah Bond Sues Sexual Assault Accuser Over ‘False Allegations’

Wide receiver Isaiah Bond, a top NFL prospect from the University of Texas, turned himself in to Frisco, Texas, authorities on a sexual assault warrant. He was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Bond has proclaimed his innocence, calling the charges “patently false,” and less than a week later has filed a lawsuit against the accuser. His agent, Damien Butler, sent an email to all 32 NFL teams with the same message.

“Unlike the false narrative that has been amplified, the truth, once revealed in its entirety, will show that he was targeted by a woman eight years his senior, relentlessly pursued, enticed by explicit photos & videos and ultimately setup for financial gain,” reads the email.

“Isaiah, like most 21-year-olds, must show a higher level of discernment in social media interactions and access, however, he is completely innocent of the allegations levied against him and will fight to clear his name.  For Clubs that still feel his elite talent can help them win games for the next decade, he is eager to get back on the gridiron where he feels most at home.”

The alleged victim claimed that the event began as a consensual sexual encounter, but that when she refused to engage in a sexual act, Bond “began engaging in that act anyway.” Following the encounter, Bond allegedly asked the woman to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and even offered over text to pay her, texting, “You want a 1000, I’m really sorry!” Bond and the woman allegedly had further correspondence under the supervision of police.

This week, reports suggested that the Washington Commanders are interested in Bond, who went undrafted in the NFL Draft last week.

Any real judgment of the case awaits judicial review.
