Former NFL Linebacker Adrian Robinson Dies At 25

Former NFL linebacker, Adrian Robinson has died unexpectedly at the age of 25. While the cause of his death was previously unknown, the Philadelphia medical examiner has now ruled it a suicide by hanging, according to the Denver Post.

Between 2008-11, Robinson, a Pennsylvania native, played for Temple and was a standout for the Owls. In 50 games, he had 156 total tackles, 33.5 tackles for a loss, 22.5 sacks, two interceptions and eight forced fumbles. On top of this, he was the 2009 MAC Player of the year and achieved All-Mac honors twice.

In 2012, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he surprisingly made the roster and played 12 games for the team. However, he was soon traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for Felix Jones, but the NFC East team released him shortly after the acquisition.

In 2013, he went on to play ten games for three teams, including the Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers and Washington. Afterwards, he took the 2014 season off, but recently signed a deal with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

His agency, Symmetry, released a statement on Robinson’s passing: “Adrian was a beloved father, son, brother, friend and teammate. We ask that you please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and especially keep his daughter Avery Marie in your prayers. Thank you for all of your support and consideration.”
