Glennie was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1978 and played 18 games before retiring with Los Angeles due to a back injury.

He won a bronze medal with Canada at the Grenoble Olympics in 1968 and was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. He was named one of the 100 greatest players in Maple Leafs history in 2016.

Glennie was easy to spot, with his mop of curly hair stuck underneath a helmet that looked like a bowling ball.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death, although his health had been declining. Funeral arrangements are pending.
