Just a month after making headlines for calling out his coaches, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot is in the news again for negative reasons.
Over the weekend, Elliot was driving in Columbus when his car reportedly hit a puddle in the road; it then hydroplaned out of control before striking another car. The other driver had minor injuries but was not hospitalized, according to TMZ.
The running back was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to control his vehicle and not having a valid operator’s permit. He is due in court in January.
“First and foremost, I wasn’t aware that my license was suspended, and I mean, I’m doing everything I can now, my dad is doing everything he can now to get that handled and get my license back in good standing,” Elliott said Tuesday morning.

“Just honestly glad that nobody was majorly injured, everybody was all right, and I feel like that’s the most important part. It was a scary situation, really just trying to put it behind me and focus on this game.” He will be in action for the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Day against Notre Dame.
