Simon, who played three seasons with the Texans, compiled 51 tackles and 3.5 sacks for Houston last season. He started 12 games over the last two seasons at outside linebacker, and missed several games due to a chest injury in 2016.
In addition, the Colts added punter Jeff Locke to replace the recently-retired Pat McAfee. Locke was Minnesota’s punter for the past four seasons.
Indianapolis also announced on Friday the release of cornerback Patrick Robinson. Robinson played seven games in his only season in Indy. The veteran will enter free agency amidst one of the deepest secondary draft classes in recent memory.
