Ex-Packers RB Ahman Green Arrested For Child Abuse

Former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green has been charged with felony child abuse after his teenage daughter alleged he punched her in the face.

Ahman Green, Ex-Packers RB, Charged with Child Abuse after allegedly hitting daughter

According to a criminal complaint, Green’s 15-year-old daughter told police her father hit her in the face after the 40-year-old former NFL star ordered her to do the dishes and she protested.

Green allegedly told authorities he struck his daughter with an open hand.

Paul Srubas of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that the Brown County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Green’s arrest, which came on a charge listed as Child Abuse-Intentionally Cause Harm/Cruelty toward Child — as explained by the website of the jail the former running back was taken to.

Per the Washington Post, Green was also allegedly charged with disorderly conduct on Sunday night in the same incident, which happened in the Green Bay suburb of Ledgeview. Green was expected in court Monday afternoon. No defense lawyer appears in his records and Lammi Sports Management, which has handled Green’s appearances, did not immediately comment.

Green played for the Packers from 2000 to 2006, and then played one season for the Houston Texans as a free agent before returning to Green Bay in 2009 for his final NFL campaign. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 2014 after becoming the franchise’s all-time leading rusher. Green — a four-time Pro Bowl pick — played his first two pro football seasons (1998-2000) with the Seattle Seahawks after being drafted as a third-rounder out of Nebraska.

He is now a co-owner of the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League.
