Former two-time NBA champion with the Celtics and Lakers, Rajon Rondo, was arrested by Indiana State police on the afternoon of January 28 for misdemeanor gun and drug charges.
Rondo was being tracked down by the police after a caller reported a black 2022 Tesla driving recklessly on I-65 heading south toward Louisville. When the police got to him and pulled him over, a smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle warranted a search where they found the marijuana, a firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Rondo was taken into custody at the Jackson County Jail, although he immediately posted bond and was released thereafter. A juvenile who was in Rondo’s vehicle at the time of his arrest was released to a family member.
