The Denver Broncos have added one new mega-deal to their list of high-value contracts.
The team signed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a three-year, $33 million extension Wednesday, a deal that includes $26.9 million guaranteed for Sanders.
Since winning Super Bowl 50 in February and losing veteran quarterback Peyton Manning to retirement, the Broncos have signed a new contract of record-breaking value with linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller, as well as a deal with another linebacker, Brandon Marshall.
Broncos general manager John Elway tweeted that Sanders, 29, agreed to the extension, saying: “He plays with intensity and we love the way he competes.”

According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, the three-year deal is worth $33 million and runs through 2019. Insider Ian Rapoport added that Sanders will receive $27 million in full guarantees. The $11 million per-year new-money average puts him in the top 12 of all NFL receivers.
He’ll make $13.25 million in 2016 and $6.75 million in 2017, all of which is fully guaranteed. A $6.9 million injury guarantee for 2018 converts to a full guarantee on the fifth day of the 2018 league year.
Before the extension, Sanders was set to make $5.6 million this season as part of the three-year, $15 million deal he signed in 2014 when he first joined the Broncos from the Pittsburgh Steelers, with whom he played from 2010-2013. Fellow Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas also inked a five-year, $70 million deal last offseason, thus ensuring yet another player new starting quarterback Trevor Siemian– and ultimately, rookie Paxton Lynch– can connect with on the field.
Incidentally, Denver is the only team with several 1,000-yard receivers in each of the past two seasons.
Sanders was named to his only career Pro Bowl in 2014, when he finished with 101 catches for 1,404 yards. He had 76 receptions for 1,135 yards last season.
